The seminal sophomore album from label luminaries Door Slam Kings is a new awakening of sorts. Previously a duo, Interstellar Hinge Machine sees the influential Jacksonville, FL band expanding their repertiore of instruments and members to include old friends and new, vocoders and vibraslaps alike. The lyrics deal with subjects both universal and revelatory, ranging from mortality ("In the Store in the Heavens") to self-realization ("We Got Moonbeamzzz") to exhaustion from the breadth of possibility ("Shit That Ain't Sandals").
